I'm Jane O'Connor, a counsellor and psychotherapist based in Co. Tipperary.
With nearly three decades of experience working with young people, I bring deep knowledge and genuine compassion to every client I work with. My practice is built on respect, confidentiality, and a firm belief that every person has the inner resources to navigate life's difficulties. Sometimes we just need the right support to find them.
I am a pre-accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) and work fully within their ethical framework, ensuring the highest professional standards in everything I do.

There are some presentations and services that fall outside my current scope of practice, as they require specialist knowledge, training, or resources that I am not qualified or set up to provide. These include:
Substance use and addiction as a primary presenting issue
Eating disorders
Psychosis or other conditions requiring psychiatric management
Crisis support (I do not offer emergency or same-day crisis intervention)
Forensic or court-mandated work
Neurodevelopmental assessments (e.g. autism/ADHD diagnostic assessment)
Couples or family therapy
Clients under 16 years of age
I work by appointment only and am not able to offer emergency or drop-in support.
If any of these apply to you, I'd encourage you to seek support from a practitioner or service with the relevant specialism. I'm happy to help you think through where to find that, and if something outside my scope emerges during our work together, I'll always be open with you about it and support you in finding the right care.
